The internship was done as a part of my Doctor of pharmacy education in 2021. This one year internship was an intensive program involving clinical postings in general medicine, orthopedics, psychiatry, and paediatrics departments.

Key responsibilities included

1. Participation in ward rounds accompanying senior physicians and surgeons.
2. Reviewing patient medication charts to verify treatment rationalisation.
3. Reviewing patient vital records and input-output charts.
4. Reporting drug interactions, contraindications, and adverse drug reactions upon discovery.

Contributions

1. Reported over 20 adverse reactions to physicians, covering antibiotics, corticosteroids, and antipsychotics. The ADRs were escalated to the local drug information centers and treatment plans were modified to respective patients.
2. Supported annual review of hospital formulary.
3. Assisted in COVID vaccination camps organised by the hospital.
